Prior to his real estate career, Ahmed spent several years in healthcare, serving as a Pharmacy Manager at CVS Health from 2015 to 2018 and at Albertsons Osco Drug from 2012 to 2015, where he managed retail operations in compliance with California state regulations.
Ahmed holds a Certificate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University’s School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cambridge. His professional credentials include certification in Immunization Delivery from the APhA Foundation. Based in San Diego, California, Ahmed remains passionate about addressing the region’s housing needs while creating developments that serve as open canvases for buyers to express their individual tastes.

With a degree in Finance from the University of Southern California and an MBA from UC Irvine, J.P. possesses both the theoretical foundation and practical expertise to navigate complex development challenges.

Beyond his professional contributions, he demonstrates his dedication to public service through his active board membership with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation. Elda Developments
S. Clarke McDaniel brings 15 years of specialized experience in real estate development, with specialized expertise in guiding design teams through the full project lifecycle—from initial concept planning to final permitting. Beginning his career as a site planner, Clarke has evolved into a skilled manager who excels at navigating the complex approval processes across multiple jurisdictions.
Throughout his career, Clarke has successfully collaborated with numerous development departments, municipalities, and regulatory agencies, primarily across the sunbelt states. His comprehensive expertise encompasses planning, design development oversight, site plan approval coordination, pre-development processing, development scheduling, and consultant management.
Among his most significant accomplishments, Clarke has managed pre-development efforts for 12 multi-family sites in Arizona and five in California, leading to the approval of over 4,200 and 1,400 units respectively. He also has overseen site development approvals for 10 commercial projects in Texas and conducted planning and site feasibility studies to identify optimal locations for more than 40 home improvement stores across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Alabama.
A graduate of the University of Georgia’s School of Environmental Design, Clarke holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree and was recognized with the Hubert Bond Owens Scholarship for academic excellence. He maintained a real estate license in Georgia until 2022. Today, Clarke continues to offer valuable long-term planning insights while maintaining strong connections with select colleagues in the industry.
Superintendent, Elda Developments
Eddie Duran brings over 25 years of construction expertise to ELDA Developments, having launched his career in 1999 as a home turnover prepper. Throughout his journey, Eddie has mastered multiple roles including Warranty Supervisor, Assistant Superintendent, and Project Manager before finding his true calling as a Superintendent. His hands-on field experience and commitment to excellence make him invaluable in overseeing projects from groundbreaking to completion. Eddie’s meticulous attention to detail and efficient management approach ensure that every ELDA project meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Administrative Assistant
Isela Salazar has been an integral part of ELDA Developments since its founding, growing alongside the company while providing essential administrative support and organizational expertise. Her comprehensive understanding of ELDA’s mission and operations makes her invaluable to daily business functions.
Before joining ELDA, Isela served as Lead Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Manager at Eldahmy Wellness Pharmacy, where she developed strong leadership skills while managing staff and operations.
Isela’s background in healthcare administration has honed her ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail while efficiently handling multiple responsibilities. Her talent for streamlining processes and commitment to excellence continue to contribute significantly to ELDA’s growth and success.
When not at work, Isela enjoys quality time with family and friends, maintaining the balance that fuels her professional dedication.
Shannyn Henkel brings over 25 years of comprehensive real estate development expertise to ELDA Developments, with specialized experience in due diligence, entitlement processing, and municipal compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Her extensive background spans both predevelopment and post-construction phases, making her uniquely qualified to navigate the complex approval processes that drive successful project delivery.
Throughout her career, Shannyn has been instrumental in the entitlement and approval of over 28,000 residential units across nearly 100 communities in more than 40 jurisdictions throughout multiple states. Her expertise includes municipal fee research, tax analysis, permit processing, and regulatory compliance, all skills invaluable in ensuring ELDA’s projects meet all requirements while minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency.
Prior to joining ELDA, Shannyn served as CEO of SDH Development Inc., where she provided specialized consulting services for real estate development due diligence. Her earlier experience includes working with one of the nation’s largest multi-family developers, where she played integral roles on both development and dispositions teams. She also worked in the public sector with the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, where she administered Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant programs funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and the Montana House of Representatives, where she developed and administered legislative programs.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Montana State University- Bozeman. Shannyn’s meticulous attention to regulatory detail, combined with her extensive network of municipal contacts and deep understanding of development processes, drive ELDA’s success in bringing thoughtfully planned communities to life throughout San Diego.
Construction Director
Mark Fowler brings a unique combination of technical construction management expertise, artistic vision, and proven leadership to luxury development projects across diverse geographic markets. He has established himself as a sought-after advisor to the nation’s most prominent developers and architects, leading high-profile projects in exclusive locations from Newport Beach to Kauai, Scottsdale to New York.
With over three decades of experience spanning luxury residential developments, multi family communities, and world-class golf course construction, Mark has collaborated with industry icons including billionaire developer David Murdock and golf legend Jack Nicklaus. His portfolio includes prestigious projects at Shady Canyon, The Strand at Dana Point, custom estates on Kauai, Jack Nicklaus golf courses in San Jose, and developments for DMB, Discovery Land, and Irvine Companies.
Mark’s comprehensive expertise encompasses all phases of the development process, from permit compliance and municipal coordination to quality control and team leadership across cultural and geographic barriers. His profound understanding of architectural history and design detailing, combined with his focus on craftsmanship execution, enables him to create exceptional value for clients while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Mark holds a business education degree from Arizona State University with studies in Architecture, Business, Psychology, and Military Science. Based in Newport Beach, California, he remains passionate about creating architectural excellence while fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and construction teams. When not overseeing development projects, Mark enjoys spending time with his four children and pursuing his interests in architecture, music, art, fine dining, skiing, boating, and golf.
Architect & Construction Manager
Simon Talago brings a unique dual expertise in architecture and construction management to ELDA Developments, combining over five years of professional architectural experience with two years of hands-on construction management. His comprehensive background spans residential, multifamily, and mixed-use projects across California, Washington, and Idaho, providing him with diverse regional insights that enhance ELDA’s development capabilities.
Throughout his architectural career, Simon has developed expertise in design development, code compliance, and consultant coordination, working with established firms to deliver projects that balance creative vision with practical implementation. His technical precision ensures that design concepts translate seamlessly into buildable, compliant structures that meet both aesthetic and functional objectives.
Simon’s construction management experience adds invaluable depth to his architectural foundation. Working directly with owners and contractors, he has overseen critical aspects of project delivery including scheduling, field coordination, and quality control. This hands-on experience gives him a practical understanding of how design decisions impact real-world construction processes, enabling him to anticipate challenges and streamline project execution.
His expertise in cross-disciplinary coordination, technical precision, and on-the-ground problem solving makes him well-suited for ELDA’s complex development projects, contributing to the company’s reputation for excellence in development and execution.
Marco Peña collaborates with ELDA Developments as a construction managing consultant bringing over a decade of comprehensive construction management expertise, where he oversees all aspects of project execution and delivery. With extensive experience spanning both international and domestic markets, Marco has successfully managed complex residential and commercial developments throughout his career.
In addition to working with ELDA Developments, he has worked with CRP Affordable Housing and Community Development to deliver impactful housing solutions in San Diego and gained expertise in affordable housing development and community-focused construction projects. His foundation in construction management was built through progressive roles at leading San Diego firms, where he honed his skills in project coordination, quality control, and team leadership across diverse construction environments.
His international experience includes nearly three years with IMOVIS Desarrollos Inmobiliarios in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he advanced from Project Engineering Intern to Project Engineer and ultimately Project Manager. This cross-cultural experience provided Marco with a unique perspective on construction practices and project management approaches that benefit ELDA’s diverse development portfolio.
Marco’s comprehensive background in both residential and commercial construction, coupled with his bilingual capabilities and commitment to quality craftsmanship, makes him an invaluable asset to ELDA’s mission of creating thoughtfully designed communities throughout San Diego. Property Manager
Aziz Zakkout is a distinguished principal broker specializing in the acquisition and disposition of commercial multi-family investment opportunities throughout San Diego County. With a comprehensive approach to real estate investment, Aziz has built his reputation on delivering exceptional results through strategic market analysis, innovative financing solutions, and meticulous attention to his client’s unique investment objectives.
His expertise spans 1031 exchange planning, sales and acquisitions, financing strategies, and equity analysis. Aziz’s analytical approach to investment opportunities, combined with his strong negotiation skills and entrepreneurial mindset, has positioned him as a trusted advisor for property owners and investors seeking to maximize their real estate portfolios.
As a certified Probate and Trust Specialist through the California Association of Realtors, Aziz brings specialized knowledge to one of real estate’s most complex areas. Aziz served as a first vice president at Marcus & Millichap for over a decade, where he specialized in apartment building brokerage in San Diego. Prior to joining ELDA, Aubrey gained valuable experience in marketing at Belmont Park, where she supported various campaign initiatives in a fast-paced, public-facing environment. This early exposure to both marketing operations and business analytics strengthened her analytical thinking and reinforced her passion for organizational structure and financial management.
